RULEZ & GAMEPLAY

Oh, so you want to know how them here Hottielympics work, do ya? Well, you’ve come to the right place.

The rules are pretty simple, especially if you watch soccer (football/futbol). If you’re not a sports-watcher, well… we promise to go easy on you, but, we will make sure you understand.

Let’s break it down. There are:

• 16 competitors of each gender broken into 4 groups comprised of 4 competitors each and lettered A-D
• 4 rounds of competition wherein players face each other in matches played out in head-to-head polls

Matches—polls—will begin in the morning and remain open approximately 20 hours. Fans can vote for their favorite hottie as many times as they would like. The hottie with the most votes, wins. Simple as that.

The First Round (aka The Group Stage)
Is conducted round-robin style—that means during the group stage, every player will face all of the other players in their group, one by one. This creates a lot of matches in the first round—24, to be exact, played over 3 days. In this round, wins earn 3 points, ties earn 1 point, and losses earn a big fat goose egg. At the end of the first round, we tally those numbers and the two players from each group with the most points will progress to the second round. Point differential will be used to break ties between players in the final group standings.

The Second Round
Here, the elimination stages begin. There are four games in this round, played over two days. The first place winner from Group A will play the second place winner from Group B and the second place winner from Group A will play the first place winner from Group B. The same holds for groups C and D—the first place winner from each group plays the second place winner from the other group. Winners proceed to the semi-final round, losers are eliminated from the competition completely.

The Third Round
There are two games in this round. In the first, the winners from the Group A/B matches face each other. In the second, the winners from the Group B/C matches face each other. Winners proceed to the championship, gold medal match. Losers will face each other in a match to determine who wins bronze.

Fourth (and Final) Round
Two final matches—one for gold and glory, the other for… bronze or nothing. Winners from the semi-final round face off in the match for ultimate Broadway hottie domination, and the gold medal of our hearts. The loser of this match snags the silver medal first loser position. Losers from the semi-final round face off for bronze,or also-ran status. But hey, you were a contender!
