It’s Sunday Afternoon. Competition doesn’t start here until tomorrow morning–and there are 16 matches tomorrow, so, gird your loins–but we had a few more Hottielympics things to share with you. Two to be exact.
First – The Brackets
Below you’ll find the blank tournament brackets. There you’ll find out the groups our competitors have been randomly sorted into, so you know who your fave hotties will have to beat in the group stages in order to make it to the Quarter Final Round. That should help you and your friends get started formulating your competitive voting strategies.
Second – The Contest
We’ve decided to holding a bit of an additional contest here on the site. This one is for you, our readers. Want to win a prize pack? Download and print out one or both brackets and fill them in yourselves. Then scan your completed brackets and email them to us at hottielympics@gmail.com. Both the person who gets it right for the men, and the person who gets it right for the women will take home a Craptacular Hottielympics prize pack (contents TBD).

Right now we need you to imagine this post being read by Angela Lansbury, who we’ve decided is the Master of Ceremonies here. And, in case you were wondering, 2011-12 Broadway MVP Jeremy Jordan has been selected as the flag bearer.
In a short while, there will be a performance of One Direction, because… they’re obviously Great Britain’s best ambassadors to the world right now. Plus, we hear there are lots of girls who think they’re cute, so it seems fitting. In the meantime, we would like you to welcome this year’s Hottielympians representing Broadway and the good old US of A.
Click around, familiarize yourself with the competitors. Print cards and paste them to your forehead before you go out in public to show your support. Gird your loins.
Brackets you up this weekend so you can start toformulate voting strategies to push your favorite hotties toward gold. They’ll be printable, natch.
But in the meantime, don’t forget to enjoy the One Direction.
Okay, so you’re stuck waiting another torturous day or so to find out who the actual competitors are since opening ceremonies aren’t until Friday. BUT. We promise we’ll have some fun little goodies for you guys then.
And in the meantime, we thought you might want to know a little more about how the Hottielympics will actually work. You know—tournament structure, rules, all that. The business of determining Broadway’s Gold Medal winning hotties, as it were.
We here at The Craptacular have some concerns. Specifically, the Olympics—beginning July 27th—are a concern. Because they are obviously about to obliterate everyine’s lives, and free time, for two and a half solid weeks. What, then, is going to happen to the theater? With all the coverage of shirtless swimmers and beach volleyball players in bikinis, will people forget that Broadway is chock full of hot people, too? The horror!
We just couldn’t live with ourselves if we sat back and watched while theater hottie awareness dwindled for several weeks, so we decided to do something about it. We decided to host a little competition of our own, focused squarely on what matters most: the actors and actresses we love, and their physical, err… prowess.
Welcome to the Hottie Olympics—or Hottielympics, for short—seventeen solid days of fly-guy and smoking-gal appreciation and not-so-friendly competition.
We’re pitting 32 of theater’s best and brightest men and women against each other in head-to-head competition for hottie domination and gold medal glory. But we need your help. Or rather, your favorite hotties will need your help.
So get ready. Because opening ceremonies take place this Friday, July 27th. Our own personal torch relay has already begun.
Hottielympics is an epic race for Broadway Hottie Gold. (And silver. And bronze.) We're pitting the hottest theater hotties of this very minute against each other in a battle for complete domination. Gird your loins.
